just a kid from the North End of Beaumont

My journey of service didn’t begin with a title. It started with a pair of gloves, a roll of trash bags, and my dad's voice reminding me that, “we serve, no matter how little we have because somebody has it worse.”

As a kid growing up in Beaumont, I learned early that community isn’t just where you live. It’s what you give. I spent weekends cleaning up neighborhoods, feeding the hungry, and volunteering with local groups like Gift 4 Grades Ministry. Even when resources were tight, my father taught me that we could still show up, give our time, and care for our neighbors. That mindset shaped everything that came after.

In high school at West Brook, I stayed involved. I served on Student Council, was active in Young Life and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was recognized by Who’s Who Among American High School Students. I also lettered in varsity football, a reminder that discipline, teamwork, and grit go a long way, on and off the field.

After graduation, I joined the U.S. Army. I was honored to earn several service ribbons, but none meant more than the Humanitarian Service Medal I received for helping communities recover during Hurricane Sandy. I saw devastation, but I also saw hope. That experience hit home because I had been on the other side before, helping with hurricane relief as a child right here in Southeast Texas.

When I transitioned back to civilian life, I earned my cosmetology and barber licenses. But cutting hair wasn’t just a job. It became another way to serve. I organized and participated in Back-to-School Haircut drives, Autism Awareness haircut campaigns, and Veterans Appreciation haircut events. I used my craft to give others dignity, confidence, and a little relief in hard times.

Then came Hurricane Harvey. I was living 1,500 miles away, watching floodwaters rise in my hometown. I packed my belongings and drove back to Beaumont with no second thoughts. I joined hands with local groups like Some Other Place, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and took part in Hurricane Imelda relief work as well. I didn’t come home for recognition. I came home because service is who I am.

In 2021, I took that service to the next level and ran for Beaumont ISD School Board, District 2, representing the North End community that raised me. I became the youngest elected trustee in BISD history. At my very first board meeting, I was elected Board Secretary and Facilities Committee Chairman. Two years later, my peers entrusted me as Vice President of the Board. I concluded my term in 2025 to pursue another calling: to serve as Justice of the Peace for Precinct One, Place Two.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me. I’m not just running for office. I’m running to serve, uplift, and represent our community with integrity. I would be honored to earn your support as your next Justice of the Peace for Precinct One, Place Two.
